The past two days have consisted of watching GDC talks and reading various blogs about what makes a good horror game or setting.

One thing is clear, the common denominator is cohesive design. In order to create good horror some fundamentals must be known as well as the visual, sound, and game play meshing together at the same time.

In order to properly test if things are working as intended all boats must rise at the same time. Otherwise, the player/audience won't fully understand what your trying to test, let alone fully flesh out.

Here is a link to one of the GDC talks i've looked into: https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1021852/Building-Fear-in-Alien
